COMMON PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS

PS2/ XBOX Logitech Controller
These are very well made controllers and rarely suffer from any fault, however sometimes the batteries can loose charge before they are opened so it is recommended that if you have any problem with the controller please replace these before sending it back, also controllers refresh their settings every time the machine is turned on, if you are pushing a button or analogue stick when you turn the machine on then it will either not work or constantly be on.

Scart cable not working ? Sound but no picture ?
Scart cables use pre set channels on your TV that do not require tuning, these are called AV channels. Not all TV's have the ability to change the picture automatically so you may need to manually select the channel once you have turned on your games console. This is usually called AV 1 2 or 3 and on your remote will be a button called AV AV/0 or a square with an inwards pointing arrow. If you do not have a remote you can usually get to these channels by going backwards from channel 1.

RF cable not working ?
RF cables use Radio Frequency waves to transmit the picture and sound. The games console will need to be tuned into the TV just like it were a new channel. Please follow your TV's instructions for tuning in stations.

Alternatively most RF units have a switch for Europe and NTSC if the picture is grainy try switching to the other position.

Control Pad Not working ?
Control pads are configured every time you connect, for example if you had the anolog stick pointing left when you turn on the machine it will continue to point left throughout the game, simply restarting the machine whilst the controller is not being touched will solve this.

Game Cartridge Not Working ?
Super Nintendo, NES, Mega Drive , GameGear, N64, Gameboy and all other cartridge based machines

Most cartridges use copper contacts to connect to the machine, these are usually found at the bottom of the cartridge and look like a metallic barcode, Due to being made of copper they are prone to oxidising which produces a sticky green/brown residue on the surface of the metal, This can also lead to dirt being stuck to the contacts. To clean simply take a regular cotton wool bud and rub vigorously along the contacts, you may also want to blow hard into the slot where the cartridge goes into the machine to eliminate any dirt on the other end of the contacts.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS:
If you do not have a UK / PAL compatible console then this may stop your games working, Mega drive games can be made to fit by finely taking the corners of the slot on your mega drive, Super Nintendo and N64 carts will not work unless you buy a converter. If you have purchased a UK / PAL game and it is listed as this in the items description you may return it but you will NOT be refunded for the postage as this is a customer error not ours. Simply follow the instructions above. If you do not state that it is not compatible due to your system, a replacement will be sent and it still will not work so please remember to make that clear in all correspondence

Gamecube – Gameboy advance sp link cable?
This cable is only used for connecting a Gameboy Advance SP to a Gamecube machine so that it can be used as a controller. This is its only purpose it cannot play Gameboy games on a Gamecube and is not used to transfer data. Please do not send it back if you have bought this and did not read the items description as the replacement you will receive will be the same.

PSP / iPod / Gameboy Advance / DS charger not working ?
It is a rare occurrence but in manufacturing thousands of these at a time there will always be the odd one that doesn't work. To make sure that we eliminate the problem as the charger please follow theses simple steps.

  1. Make sure that there is not dirt or grime on the contacts where the charger lead connects to the machine. The contacts are made of copper and easily get dirty when in your pocket.
  2. Try the charger in another plug socket to make sure that it is not a fault with the mains
  3. Leave the charger on for an hour, sometimes the light that lets you know the item is charging will fail, it will appear not to be charging when it actually is. Check to see if there is any life after an hour charge,
