HDMI is the new standard for digital video transmission supporting standard, enhanced and high definition video signals and HDMI cables can be converted to DVI-D using this adapter. This adapter may be used to connect devices fitted with HDMI connectors (such as TV tuner cards & DVD players) with devices fitted with DVI-D connectors (such as TFT monitors and some of the LCD TVs) where a HDMI cable is already in place.
This adapter is fitted with a 19 pin type A female connector on one side and a dual link DVI-D male connector on the other.
